AI competitor analysis: see who the engines name instead of you.
Every competitor that ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and the other answer engines name in your category, ranked against you by share of voice, with the exact prompts where each one takes your place.
What is AI competitor analysis?
AI competitor analysis compares how often AI answer engines recommend you against how often they recommend your competitors, for the same set of buyer questions. The headline number is share of voice: your mentions as a share of all brand mentions in the answers.
It matters because an AI answer is not a page of ten links. An engine usually names a handful of brands and stops. If a competitor is on that short list and you are not, the buyer may never see you at all.
The most useful output is not the ranking itself but the prompts behind it: the specific questions where a competitor is named and you are not. Those are the gaps to close first.
How the comparison is built.
- Add the competitors you know: Enter each competitor with its website and any other names it goes by, so mentions are matched however an engine spells them.
- We find the ones you did not list: Any brand an engine names in answers to your prompts is picked up, so new entrants and adjacent players show up without you having to guess them.
- Mentions are counted across every answer: Share of voice is calculated from the stored answers over the last 30 days, per engine and across all engines together.
- Gaps are listed prompt by prompt: For each competitor you see the questions where they are named and you are not, sorted so the biggest gaps come first.
What your team gets.
- A ranked category table: Every brand the engines name in your category, ranked by share of voice, with you highlighted in the list.
- Share of voice per engine: A competitor can lead on ChatGPT and trail on Perplexity. The split by engine shows where each one is strong.
- Prompt-level gaps: The exact questions each competitor wins, so your content and PR work targets real buyer questions rather than guesses.
- Overtake alerts: An in-app alert when a competitor overtakes you on a tracked prompt, so a change does not go unnoticed for a month.
- Market by market: Competitors differ by country. Comparisons run in each market and language you sell in.
- Scales with your plan: Track up to 3 competitors on Starter, up to 10 on Growth and as many as you need on Scale.
Frequently asked questions
How do you find competitors I have not listed?
Every answer to your prompts is checked for brand names. Any brand that appears is added to your category view, so you see the full field the engines consider, not only the names you entered.
What is share of voice in AI search?
Your brand's mentions as a percentage of all brand mentions across the answers to your tracked prompts. If engines name brands 200 times in a month and you are named 36 times, your share of voice is 18%.
How many competitors can I track?
Up to 3 on Starter, up to 10 on Growth and unlimited on Scale and Enterprise. Competitor tracking is not included on the Free plan.
Can I compare against competitors in a specific country?
Yes. Prompts run in each market and language your project sells in, and the comparison is shown per market as well as overall.
How do I find out why a competitor is recommended over us?
Open the prompts where they win and read the stored answers. The sources the engine cited are listed with each one, which usually shows the reviews, directories or articles that put the competitor on the short list.
